Today’s launch is especially significant, as this is the first time that the Ministry of Social Development has celebrated International Day of Disabled Persons with a week-long programme of activities. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am also proud to highlight that these activities will take place at the community level, and are organised by you, the Non-Governmental and Community- based organisations who continue to work tirelessly in support of all persons with disabilities.
I would like to publicly congratulate the officers and staff of DRETCHI and the Association, on the excellent service that they continue to provide to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. Your professionalism, determination, vision and commitment to delivering high quality service, ensure that the needs of our hearing impaired citizens are fulfilled with compassion and dignity.
